Humanized Computational Intelligence with Interactive Evolutionary Computation

Abstract: First, we discuss the importance of handling human factors in/with/for computational intelligence from the historical trend point of view. Then, we introduce interactive evolutionary computation (IEC) as a tool to involve human capability of evaluation based on his/her experience, domain knowledge, and preference. Main part of my talk is an overview of its wide variety of applications and researches in design and optimization of target systems. You may download related 100 slides:

Biography: Hideyuki Takagi worked for the Central Research Laboratories of Panasonic head-office, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., in 1981 - 1995, and was a visiting researcher at UC Berkeley in 1991 - 1993 hosted by Prof. L. A. Zadeh. He moved to Kyushu Institute of Design in 1995 as an Associate Professor and now works for Kyushu University since both universities merged in 2003. He had worked on cooperating neural networks, fuzzy systems, and genetic algorithms and now is focusing on Humanized Computational Intelligence with interactive evolutionary computation.
